Google Street View climbs aboard cruise ship
Google Street View has put aside mapping the streets of the world and climbed aboard the Royal Caribbean’s giant cruise ship, Allure of the Seas.
Street View mapped the whole cruise ship, creating a virtual brochure for armchair travelers and rich vacation seekers. Over 20,000 photos were taken in approximately 60 hours, using basic DSLR cameras, fisheye lenses and tripods.
The virtual experience aboard the cruise ship takes you through various decks, along the Royal Promenade which is the main shopping area, with boutiques, restaurants and various other shops expanding for almost the entire length of the ship.
Another attraction is the outdoor Central Park, bigger than a football pitch and packed with over 12,000 trees and plants.
The cruise ship also features the Flowrider, a pool that generates waves and where you can surf, the Zip Line where adventurers can glide over 9 decks and an indoors ice rink.
Google Street View also mapped the world’s tallest building, Burk Khalifa, in Dubai, and a wine chateaux in Bordeaux, France.
