Smart tech welcomes Vessyl, the smart cup

The industry of health technologies has a newcomer to welcome: the Vessyl smart cup.

If you ever wanted to know how much alcohol you drank in one night or how much sugar your beverage contains, than Vessyl will provide you with this information.

Although it was designed as a normal looking cup with a lid on, Vessyl is displaying its full capabilities only after some form of liquid is poured into it. The sensors inside can analyze in real time the molecular content of the drink and displays it on one side of the cup.

Nutritional information such as calories, sugar, alcohol or caffeine content will make it impossible for those on a low-calorie diet or who have sleep disorders to ignore the truth of their beverages' content.

Another perk is that the cup remembers what you drank before and it can make a cumulative graph displaying your sugar or caffeine intake over a certain amount of time.

Maintenance is fairly easy as it only requires a quick rinse after each use and the battery charges via a wireless coaster.

'People will at first be blown away, and then they are going to expect everything else in the world to be able to see its contents and materials the same way,' said Mike Beltzner, Pinterest's head of mobile.
