Beats releases its first wireless earbuds
Beats by Dr Dre or Apple is one of the hottest subjects these days. The famous headsets brand released a few days ago the “Solo 2” a sequel of the popular on era model and the first one after being acquired by Apple. Now Beats did it again with the “Powerbeats”.
The famous in-ear headphones received a new design so the Powerbeats 2 just hit the streets. Made famous by sports icons wearing them, the Powerbeats 2 are the first wireless earbuds Beats designed.
The original Powerbeats were made famous by basketball star Lebron James via a commercial add that sparked some interest. Now, officials at Beats say the second model of the series was inspired by the NBA MVP and he is credited as a co-creator.
However, the price is definitely going to reach champion levels. The earbuds will go for sale at 199.95 dollars. Comparing the design with others on the market, the price is not very competitive. But it's the brand that sales and also the fact that the headset was designed to be wireless and as light as possible for sports activities.
The set comes in three colors, red, black and white and they are sweatproof. The earbuds are also equipped with new hooks designed to secure the headphone close to your head. The entire device is powered by Bluetooth 4.0 and it has a 6 hour autonomy. That's not something to brag about when it comes to autonomy, but most probably no user will do six hours of straight sports.
Every critic out there said the device looks great, feels good and does what it supposed to do. It even has a cool LED that tells users when power is low, but everyone said the price is too high. 200 dollars for some earbuds and maybe the same product will go for 200 euros in Europe is quite expensive.
