Ukrainian PM quits amid failing party coalition
Ukraine’s Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, decided it was time for him to step down from his function after two parties pulled out of the governing coalition.
‘I am announcing my resignation in connect with the collapse of the coalition,’ said Yatsenyuk yesterday during a parliamentary session.
The governing coalition, consisting of the nationalist Svoboda party and the Udar party, were formed following former president Viktor Yanukovich’s ouster.
The two parties must now put forward a candidate to temporarily take the Prime Minister function.
