Merkel not upset by US spying on her
Another month comes with another set of US spying on German officials allegations.
However, Chancellor Angela Merkel calmed the waters after saying, during a conference, that although Germany and the US have different opinions when it comes to data protection, America is, nonetheless, an important ally and the relationship between the two countries will not be ruined by such accusations.
‘We have different opinions on an area of cooperation between our services and also on the issue of security and protection of personal data, but that doesn't change the fact that the U.S. is our most important ally,’ Merkel said.
