Putin prepares sanctions for the West
Russia’s Vladimir Putin has ordered his government to prepare a series of sanctions for the West as retaliation for EU and US sanctions imposed on Russian companies.
It’s been rumored that Moscow may decide to prohibit passenger planes from traveling to Siberia, thus forcing airlines to choose a more expensive alternative route to Asia.
However, this decision may hurt Russian airlines as they receive a revenue from foreign airlines that use that flight path.
Putin is determined to impose his own round of sanctions to the West after Russian banks, defense firms and several airlines had been banned to do any trade businesses with other western companies.
