Sandy beach island will float on Hudson River
After Paris and Vienna, New York now wants to have its own beach spot where locals can relax and enjoy the pleasures of a day spent under the sun and on the sand.
The novelty that will come with the future New York beach is that it’s going to be placed on a floating island.
1,000 cubic meters of sand will fill up a floating barge on the River Hudson. The barge will also hold bars, restaurants, deckchairs and a marine science exhibit, plus 200 beach chairs.
The man with the idea is Blayne Ross who says that the floating beach island is meant to help NYC residents temporarily escape their chaotic city lives.
