The hidden wonders of Spain
Spain is renowned as a touristic destination, but most tourists coming from Europe, China or USA visit the famous cities of Madrid, Barcelona and others and the sea side. However, Spain has a few wonderful places that are little known of.
Probably one of the most beautiful places in Spain is the small island of Gaztelugatxe. The small rock belongs to the municipality Bermeo in the Basque Country. It is connected to the mainland by a man made narrow bridge. The best seasons to visit the site are spring and autumn and the stairway leading to the bridge looks like it was ripped out of a movie.
Another place little known about with astonishing views is Cabo de Gata natural park, located in the south-eastern part of the country in Andalusia. It is the largest coastal protected area in Spain. It is also the only region in Europe with a warm desert climate.
Another jaw-dropping view that Spain provides is located in Ribadeo, Galicia. “As Catedrais beach” translated to the “Beach of the Cathedrals” is a geological formation that lies about ten kilometers of cliffs close to the shoreline. Water and wind carved the formation to a point that the cliffs resemble high cathedrals. The area was declared a Natural Monument by the regional Ministry for the Environment.
