
Spain: the summer destination for Nordics
Swedish people and the rest of the inhabitants of the Scandinavian peninsula can't really enjoy the summers sun and great bathing places. So it's no wonder they prefer to take on the Mediterranean coast line in the summer.
According to an annual statistic made by Sweden's top travel magazine, Swedes prefer Spain when it comes to summer destination. The same study revealed that Swedes took more than 2 million trips to Spain last year for an almost ten percent increase compared to the year before.
The statistic also revealed Swedes almost doubled their visits to Spain within the last few years. The same situation is recorded with Finns Norwegians. It's no wonder they prefer to visit Spain that has about 300 years of sun per year. Andalusia, Spain's most southern region is basically a summer destination from March to November.
The magazine also revealed Swedes travel a lot to neighbouring Denmark, Finland and Norway, but also Germany and UK. Outside Europe, Swedes headed most to the US with more than half a million trips.
