Italy, most expensive European destination
Eurostat, the leading provider of statistics in the EU, has pinned Italy as the priciest holiday destination in Europe.
The statistic shows that hotel and restaurant prices are 10 percent spicier than the European average.
The high price problem may put its toll on the tourism industry in Italy, a country that already struggles with the outcome of the financial crisis.
On the other hand, Europe remains a desirable tourist destination as the number of those spending their holiday on the continent has risen by 5% in 2013.
