Record number of tourists go to Spain
So far, this year, Spain registered a record number of foreign tourists visiting the country.
28 million visitors from abroad, especially Germans and British, helped tourism numbers jump by 7.3 percent from the same period of last year, when Spain also broke a record in tourists numbers.
Spain is still struggling to regain balance after a drop in its economy in 2008 left every one out of four people jobless.
As such, tourism, for Spain, is a real lifesaver and one of the main pillars of its economy.
Political and civil turmoil in other tourism destinations such as Turkey, Egypt and Israel had also helped Spain in attracting more visitors.
Last year, Spain became the world’s third most visited nation, taking the spot from China. The United States and France remain the top two favorite destinations of international visitors.
