Israel rocket hits UN school, kills 15
An Israel-launched rocket had hit a UN school where hundreds of civilians were taking shelter from the heavy fighting in the area. The death toll is now at 15 while the injured number is at 150 but could be even higher.
Fighting between Israel and the Hamas group based in Gaza is doing increasing amounts of damage mostly to civilians. Apart from taking the lives of over 700 Palestinians, it is also destroying the homes of many more people in what is one of the most densely populated regions in the world.
UN officials have continually blamed Israel for repeatedly breaking human rights as even Red Cross volunteers and health care workers came under fire several times when they tried to rescue victims.
