Algerian official confirms the plane crashed
The latest information regarding Air Algerie flight AH5017 show that the plane has crashed. There were few clear indications of what happened to the aircraft and if there were any casualties, but it is now just a matter of time until the wreck will be found.
An Algerian official confirmed the information. “I can confirm that it has crashed,” he said but declined to identify himself. Almost half the passengers were French. Air Algerie revealed the passenger list that included 50 French, 24 Burkinabe, 8 Lebanese, 4 Algerians, twp passengers from Luxemburg and one passenger from each: Nigeria, Cameroon, Ukraine, Romania, Belgium and Switzerland.
French officials immediately decided to find the wreck and dispatched two fighter jets. The military planes were based in the region and were rapidly scrambled on the original route of AH5017 and the probable route. The information was confirmed by the French army spokesman. Also Nigerian official dispatched a few aircraft to help the search mission.
