Rebel commander agrees they had Buk missile system
Alexander Khodakovsky, a rebel commander in Ukraine, admitted the pro-Russian militants did have a Buk missile system at the time the Malaysian MH17 flight had been shot down.
He said that by, probably, rebels have sent the weapon back to Russia in order to remover proof of its existence.
Khodakovsky’s statements come after several images and video footage surfaced the internet, revealing the Buk system in rebel hands, including one image portraying a young rebel soldier posing right in front of the weapon.
After the Malaysian passenger flight, rebels refused to admit that they had such a weapon and blamed the tragedy on the Ukrainian government.
Although now they admitted to owning such a missile system, they still blame the government, saying that the rebels had been provoked by the army to use the Buk system exactly when the Malaysian plane was above Ukraine.
‘Ukraine received timely evidence that the volunteers have this technology. They knew that it would be deployed there, and provoked the use of this Buk by starting an airstrike on a target they didn’t need, that their planes hadn’t touched for a week,’ added Alexander Khodakovsky.
