Victims of MH17 plane are ready for the Netherlands
Human remains of the victims on the MH17 Malaysian plane which was shot down in eastern Ukraine are ready to embark on a flight to the Netherlands.
Once there, experts will begin a lengthy process of identifying the remains. The whole process could take many months.
OSCE international observers at the crash site reported that human remains could still be seen in the field.
Jan Tuinder, head of the Dutch forensics team, said that not all bodies had been recovered yet but he is certain that 200 bodies were sent toward Netherlands: ‘There were more people on the plane, there were more remains to be found and we are not in a position at this moment to put all the remains to the person. What we are sure of is 200.’
Meanwhile, the plane’s black boxes arrived today in Great Britain where experts will analyze the recordings stored on them and gather vital information regarding the plane’s last minutes in air.
