Art specialist confirm a 150 euro painting as Dali's work
Art experts have found another Slavador Dali painting. Using high tech precision instruments such as infrared photography and X-ray, experts have concluded a 150 euro painting is the art of the famous Spanish surrealist painter.
The painting was discovered by Tomeu L'Amo in Girona (a town near Barcelona) in 1988 who bought it for 25,000 pesetas (defunct Spanish currency), about 150 euros. The art historian suspected the painting to be Dali's genius work, but the canvas had no proof what so ever.
After investigating the work he reached the conclusion the painting was in fact made by Dali. It's called “The Intrauterine Birth of Salvador Dali” and it was not credited to Dali for mode than a decade. Between 2004 and 2013 the canvas went under test including infrared photography, X-Rays and ultraviolet radiation and finally experts concluded the work belongs to Dali and it was made in 1921, when the Spanish artist was only 17.
Even the signature matched with later ones. “Writing samples from the dedication and signature coincide with the handwriting and signature which the artist had in the 1920s,” said Jose Pedro Venzal, a handwriting analyst.
Recently two more paintings made by the same Spanish artist were identified in the US, but the ones found a few weeks ago date back to 1930s.
