World's most beautiful ruins

 

If until now the legends behind ghost towns, abandoned buildings and mills or amusement parks left in dereliction could scare even the bravest, now they have turned into real sights, especially for those who master the art of photography. Here are some of the most beautiful ruins in the world:

 

 

UFO Houses, Taiwan

 

These are some homes that were built in 1978 for a few hundred U.S. military officers. In 1980 the work stopped due to loss of investment and jobs and the whole thing remained the same stage even now, after 34 years.

 

 

 

 

 

Pripyat Park, Ukraine

 

Pripyat is a town of about 50,000 inhabitants which was completely abandoned a few days after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.

 

 

 

 

 

Ryugyong Hotel, North Korea

 

The Ryugyong Hotel was supposed to be a psychiatric hospital in North Korea. The lack of funds had the work to be stopped, and for 20 years was left like that. In 2008 the work was resumed and the whole building is now covered in glass.

Shicheng is a city founded about 1300 years ago. 53 years ago it was swallowed by the waters of Xin'an River Hydro Plant, transforming it into a paradise for divers.

 

 

 

 

 

Central Station, Detroit

 

The building was built between 1912 and 1913 and was housing the Central Station of Detroit. It has long been the world's highest railway station. Its lines were closed in 1988.
