Tokyo – best experience in a city

The capital city of Japan was voted for best overall experience city in the world according to TripAdvisor. The Japanese metropolis was ranked very high in 13 out of 16 categories that eventually brought it the trophy.

Tokyo also claimed number one spot for helpful locals, public transportation and cleanliness of streets. It also managed to snatch top three for nightlife, best restaurants and comfort travelling alone. According to TripAdvisor, more than 50,000 people reviewed these seen cities around the world. “Tokyo received high marks from TripAdvisor travelers, who praise the city for its hospitality, cleanliness and outstanding public transit system,” said Brook Ferencsik, director of communications at TripAdvisor. 

The results of the second annual Cities Survey listed only one city in the U.S., New York. The “Big Apple” is a world class destination for shopping, nightlife and best restaurants. New York also came close to the number one spot in overall experience, attractions and things to do.

If you like a logical way of getting around a large city you must visit Vienna, Austria. The Austrian city was also ranked high in public transport and culture. Other European cities that managed to enter the top were Rome and Stockholm for Best for attractions or Family-friendliness.

At the bottom the rankings was found Moscow. Russia's capital city clinched last position for best hotels, value for money, restaurants, helpful locals and taxi services.
