Spain's booming tourism industry is going strong
One of the fewest thing really going strong in Spain right now is tourism. Spain's astonishing tourism business kept strong even when financial crisis was ruining the country. The latest official statistics revealed improving figures.
The Spanish Tourism Minister claims more than 15 million tourist visited Spain in the first four months of 2014 and that means a nine percent increase from the same period in 2013. The statistic showed that the most visitors came from the UK, about 3.5 million tourist, closely followed by Germans with 2.5 million.
The autonomous region of Andalusia saw the biggest growth with more than ten percent more tourists. Andalusia, the second largest region in Spain lives practically out of tourism. The region has the biggest unemployment rate in the entire European Union.
Last year Spain became the third most visited country in the world. More than 69 million tourist chose to spend their vacation in Spain. Official figures show these tourist left behind almost 60 billion euros to boost the Spanish economy.
