Romanian Castles: Hunyad Castle
Hunedoara Castle, also known as Corvins' Castle or Hunyad Castle is one of the most important Gothic castles in Transylvania, Romania.
It was built in the 15th century by Ioan of Hunedoara on a cliff by the Zlasti creek. The castle was restored and transformed into a museum.
The legend says that Vlad Tepes, better known as Count Dracula, was held hostage at the castle by the Hungarian military leader John Hunyadi.
