How to choose the perfect carry-on
First, you need to settle on the type of carry-on you want, then buy it, pack it and travel away!
Here are some tips for inspiration when choosing your luggage:
There are hard-top polycarbonate ones, very popular these days. The main disadvantage is that they don't have any front pockets, so if you want to get anything out of the suitcase, you'll have to open the entire thing. But, they can be very light and very durable.
Next we have the Duffel wheelie. The pluses are that they tend to be much lighter and have adaptable shapes. The minus – clothes tend to wrinkle more.
The backpack wheelie. Very light, durable and stable. Just the thing to walk around and go trekking with.
The four-wheeled wheelie. Also durable, really spacious and expandable. It also has easy accessible front pockets for things you need more often and, you can use it as a chair.
Also, look for these:
Size is key. Most airlines will accept a carry-on of 22/14/9 inches.
Weight. Also crucial. Most of the U.S. based airline companies will accept a total of 45 pounds; Air France and British Airways – 26 pounds.
Handle. The expendable one needs to be long enough so that it's comfortable to you when you're rolling it around. The lifting handle should be on the top and on the side of your luggage.
Wheels. They need to be strongly fixed and aligned with the suitcase. If they are sticking out, they're gonna break easier.
