Don't spend on what you can get for free
Stop buying things that you can get for free. You can save a lot of cash by recycling and outsmarting the travel supply companies which make a fortune from selling items that you can get for free.
Bubble wrap
It comes for free with lots of items you buy – don't throw it away! Instead of spending money on protective sleeves to save, for example, packed bottles from breakage, use the bubble wrap that you already have.
No "packing cubes"
Don't spend money on "packing cubes" that help travelers organize luggage. Use instead the sheet / bedding casings that come for free when you buy most comforters, sheets and pillow cases.
No travel-sized bottles
Instead of spending money on travel-sized bottles, stock the free samples that you get at hotels or promotions and take them with you on your trips.
Reuse old towels
Disposable airline seat covers or seat cushions are quite expensive. Take your old towels with you when you travel and put them to good use.
Reuse old pillowcases
Don't throw away old bedding. A pillowcase can be used as a dirty laundry bag, shoe bag or a disposable just-in-case-this-spills bag to protect your liquid-filled bottles and tubes, instead of buying costly similar sacks and pouches at the travel supply stores.
