Best and worst days for flying

A new study coming from Hopper, a trip planning search engine, come to aid soon-to-be travelers on when to buy plane tickets and other optimal days for departures and arrivals.

Thus, Thursday is the day of the week when you can find the cheapest plane tickets for domestic flights, although the price differs only by 10% between the best day and the worst day, which is Saturday.

When talking about international flights, things stand a little differently as there is a $25 price variation between the best day and the worst day which, for these kind of flights, is Sunday.

The best day to depart is considered to be Wednesday while the worst is Sunday, for both types of travel, domestic and international.

As for returning home, the best day is on Tuesday from domestic flights and Wednesday for international and the worst day to return home is on Friday for both kind of flights.

Another travel-related study reveals that the cheapest fare can be obtained by booking a ticket with 54 days in advance of the flight.
