A 'touristic' video brought a French boy a 400 euro fine
A french teenager that wanted to show the world the beauty of his hometown of Nancy received a...fine. He was fined 400 euros for illegally using a drone to make the video, which is by the way impressive.
A judge decided the 18 year old boy would receive only a fine after he pleaded guilty to charges of endangering the lives of other and failure to comply with French aviation law. “I feel like I have been treated like a criminal. I'm thinking about moving to Spain or Portugal where the legislation regarding flying drones is less strict,” said 18 year old Nans Thomas.
However, the boy's intention were pure and almost touristic like. He used an aerial drone to video record the main sites around the historic city of Nancy and local beauties. He named his project “Nancy vu du ciel”, Nancy seen from the air.
Although his actions were a bit illegal according to the French law, the video is impressive and it gathered more than 350,000 views on the famous Youtube. His video was probably the best touristic guide for foreigners visiting Nancy.
Here's Nancy from the air:
The most renowned place featured in the video is “Place Stanislas”. It is one of the most famous sites in Nancy and named after the king of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and duke of Lorraine, Stanislaw Leszcynski. It is a large pedestrian square in the city. The place has been added on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
