Two trains crashed into each other in Germany
Two high speed trains collided in Berlin, Germany while performing slow platform maneuvers. The driver of one train suffered minor injuries, but was taken to hospital due to a shock.
The accident was caused in the early ours, in the Berlin-Rummelsburg rail yard. One train was stationary on a platform, while the other one was apparently drove into it. One of the two high speed trains was traveling at around 20 kmh so the impact was not very powerful. However, both trains suffered damages.
“It's to early to sat exactly how much damage was caused by the impact, but it was a considerable amount,” Belin's police spokesman told The Local. One of the drivers was taken to hospital due to a shock.
Although the impact was not that powerful, one of the carriage derailed so railway engineers worked a few hours to put the train back on track and remove them from the platform. Railway officials stated the accident did not cause any delays.
