Taliban video shows Bowe's release

The Talibans released of video showing the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

The video reveals a very confused and frightened Bergdahl, all dressed in white and with a shawl on his shoulders, seated in the backseat of a car. Armed Taliban surround him, one of them having a rocket-propelled grenade launcher ready.

After the Black Hawk chopper finally lands, three man come to receive the prisoner. The unsual detail is that, before handing him over to the Americans, the Talibans shake hand with them. After that, they give Bergdahl a pat on the back, thus marking the end of his five years of captivity.

'We waited in the area for around 10 minutes before the helicopters arrived, and there were 18 Mujahideen fighters with me in the area,' the narrator of the video said, continuing with: 'Our arrangement was that once the helicopters are on the ground, three people from the other side would get off the helicopter and three from our side, including the captive, would move toward the helicopter to hand him over.'

The only English words spoken by the narrator are: 'Don't come back to Afghanistan', obviously addressed to Bergdahl.

Bowe Bergdahl was released by Talibans after 5 years of captivity, in a prisoner exchange deal. He is currently in Germany where he is undergoing treatment at a medical facility.

More than one controversy has flared up since his release, some linked to Bowe being a deserter and some regarding the prisoner exchange deal terms which stated that Bowe would be released in exchange for five Taliban prisoners held at Guantanamo.
