Spain record massive job growth in May
Despite the fact Spain is going through political uncertainty after King Juan Carlos abdicated, Spanish official announced the month of May brought big improvement when it comes to the number of new employees.
The improvement is based on the fact that the Spanish government granted legal status to thousands of migrants. Social Security has recorded almost 200,000 new contributors. According to official figures, it's the largest increase since July 2005, before Spain was hit by financial crisis.
May was the third consecutive month that Spanish Social Security has recorded a rise in affiliation. However the same institution provided the reason. May and June are the best months for Spanish labor because of increased tourism and harvesting work.
“We are looking at a powerful rise in affiliation that goes far beyond what one could expect of the month of May,” said state secretary for Social Security, Tomas Burgos.
