Spain is facing rising unemployment rate
Spanish authorities are facing new and worryingly figures regarding unemployment. The first quarter of 2014 was yet again a reminder of the slow recovery from the financial crisis that struck the country a few years ago.
The Spanish National Statistics Institute revealed the fact that jobless rate almost reached the 26 percent marker again. It was an official 0.1 increase in unemployment rate since the previous quarter.
The same Institute said there are almost 5,95 million people looking for a job in Spain. The biggest unemployment rate is found withing young people. 50 percent of all young people between 18 and 25 years old are unemployed and never had a job.
The autonomous region of Andalusia has the biggest unemployment rate in the European Union. In excess of 30 percent of all people are currently jobless. In fact, seven out of the first 10 regions in EU regarding unemployment rate are from Spain.
