Over 30 children die in Colombia bus fire
Over 30 children have died today in a bus fire in Colombia.
The children were returning from a church event in the proximity of the Fundacion city.
What ignited the fire remains unknown so far, although authorities presume it was linked to an engine fault or contraband petrol.
It appears that the driver attempted to start the engine by pouring gas into the engine which was situated beneath the bus cabin floor.
Although the driver escaped unharmed, he is now being questioned by police.
Another 20 persons survived the fire, though suffering serious burns as a result.
The private-owned bus was used to transport children during weekdays to and from school.
Now, President Juan Manuel Santos is expected at the city of Fundacion to talk to the relatives of the victims.
