Nigerian bomb blasts leave over 100 dead
Fears of more violent attacks have come true for the Nigerian people after two bombs have blasted through the city of Jos, leaving at least 118 people dead and injuring many others.
The explosions hit a busy business district and incinerated several shops, causing damage across a widespread area.
The city is situated on the border between the Christian south and the Muslim north and it is also a region where the Boko Haram militant group is most active.
Police officials have declared that the attacks bear the marks of the Boko Haram insurgents.
The group is currently the focus of joined international efforts to locate and recover over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the insurgents.
