Battle preparations in separatist Donetsk
A new rebellion strike is being prepared for Ukrainian government troops as the separatists began reinforcing one of the combat zones in Donetsk.
The roads have not been evacuated yet of civilian inhabitants, in spite of life losses among local people during the last fights for re-capturing the Donetsk airport.
'I am here on my land and we will protect it. We are in our city. We are being occupied. There’s no reason to be afraid,' said one woman reluctent of fleeing the combat zone.
Many of the locals have lost faith in the government troops and their abilities to change the current situation for the better. The police only seems to reinforce their lack of confidence: 'Unfortunately, we don’t receive enough information about the fighting on either side of the conflict,” he said. “So we’re relying on civilians for our information,' declared Yuri Sednev, Chief of Police in Donetsk.
Moreover, the rebels have built barricades in the combat area in the presence of the police. The latter insist they remain neutral.
