Hollywood takes on Sgt. Bergdahl’s story
Bowe Bergdahl’s story is going to reach the silver screen as Hollywood directors announced they are translating the controversial story into a movie.
The same director and screenwriter who developed Oscar-wining movies ‘The Hurt Locker’ and ‘Zero-Dark-Thirty’ are now focusing on Bergdahl’s story, a US Army sergeant who had been released by Talibans in Afghanistan after five years of captivity.
However, Bergdahl’s tale is not without controversies as he might have gotten into captivity after deliberately leaving his post. Moreover, some of his fellow soldiers later lost their lives while searching for him.
Given the fact that the soldier’s story has already received a lot of attention from the media and the public, the movie has many chances of bringing director Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal a few Oscars.
