Angelina Jolie receives British honorary title
Angelina Jolie received one of Britain’s highest honorary titles after being named Dame Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George by Queen Elizabeth herself.
The title comes to thank the 39-year-old for her relentless work to fight against sexual violence and rape in wartime.
Jolie was in London, being chair of world summit on preventing sexual abuse when she received the honorary title.
‘To receive an honor related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to. I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of mine,’ said Jolie in her acknowledgment speech.
She is the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative.
