Portuguese president collapses during speech
Anibal Cavaco Silva, Portugal's president, fainted while he was holding a speech to the military, on Tuesday.
The president was participating at the national day ceremonies when he began to stumble and, eventually, blacked out.
He was helped off stage by military officials but returned half an hour later and finished his speech.
In the same time, but in another part of the country, trade unionists began their protests.
