Ukraine's foreign minister joins protest mob against Russia
Russia has called on Ukraine's foreign minister to resign after he joined a protest rally and made offensive comments about Vladimir Putin.
Andriy Deshchytsia, Ukrainian foreign minister, was summoned on Saturday at the Russian embassy in Kiev to calm down an angry mob which was protesting outside the building.
Soon enough, though, Deshchytsia joined the rally and began demonstrating himself, shouting swear words to describe Russia's president and using offensive language in general. The mob soon ensued, repeating the minister's words.
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared himself both enraged and shocked at the Ukrainian politician's actions: 'I was very shocked by the fact that the acting Ukrainian foreign minister arrived either to admonish the turbulent mob or to take part in this orgy, but took the liberty to use such language. (…) .I don’t know how he can now talk and work with us.'
The angry mob of people gathered outside the Russian embassy after a Ukrainian military plane was shot down, all 49 passengers on board ending up dead. The people blame Russia for allegedly supporting the separatists with anti-aircraft weapons.
