Ukraine: 89% voted yes
"Do you support the Act of State Self-Rule of the Donetsk People's Republic/Luhansk People's Republic?" asked the ballot papers in both Ukrainian and Russian.
89.07% voted in favor of self-rule in Ukrainian Donetsk region, with 10.19% against, with 0.74% of the ballots declared invalid, according to Roman Lyagin, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic election commission.
Ukraine doesn't recognize the results, calling the poll a "criminal farce" organized by Russia. The foreign ministry said the referendum was "inspired, organized and funded by the Kremlin". The vote was also declared illegal by the European Union and the United States.
The final vote results in Luhansk region are still to be released later today.
