Two wingsuit flyers died in Switzerland

A horrible wingsuit accident happened yesterday in Switzerland. Three daredevils wearing wingsuits jumped from a helicopter over Lutschental valley. They were performing dangerous maneuvers called proximity flying and at some point everything went wrong. The circumstances are still unknown. 

Although they intended to land in the valley safely, the three wingsuit daredevils never made it. They crashed onto a green pasture near Sengg and two of them died on the spot. When rescue team reached the area the 34 year old Frenchman and the 33 year old New Zealander were already dead.

The third wingsuit flyer, and American citizen was still alive. However, he sustained severe injuries, but was rushed to the hospital by helicopter.

Official figures show that almost 20 people are killed each year in Switzerland performing proximity wingsuit flying.
