Beijing sends help to Paris police
China sends help to France. Law enforcement officials in Paris will receive reinforcement from Beijing to help protect Chinese visitors in the summer. Chinese tourists have been the target of multiple attacks and muggings recently.
France is the most popular tourism country in the world. It has received in excess of 80 million visitors in 2013 of which around two millions were from China. France receives the most Chinese tourists than any other European country. However, the last incidents involving Chinese tourists made Paris officials look for help in Beijing.
Officials confirmed the information, but declined to confirm how many police officers from Beijing will patrol the street of Paris this summer. The French Tourism Ministry expects a boost of Chinese tourists this year because of events tied to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between France and China.
The protection of Chinese tourists came in mind again after last year a group of more than 20 people arriving from Beijing were attacked and robbed by three men shortly after landing at Charles De Gaulle airport.
