Setbacks for Ukrainian military operations
A day after the Ukrainian army commenced an anti-terrorist operation to remove pro-Russian supporters from the occupied public buildings, local Russian supporters reacted more promptly than expected, stopping and disarming several Ukrainian armored vehicles.
Locals are blocking the path of military convoys and jeopardizing their mission to remove pro-Russian militia from public buildings in Kiev and other towns.
Meanwhile, the industrial region of Donbass, which is in close relations to Russia, has declared itself independent from Ukraine.
As the military operation is underway, in Geneva, Russia, Ukraine, the EU and the US are holding peace talks and trying to resolve the escalating crisis.
