Israel announces Gaza troop withdrawal

Israel announced it will withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip and respect a three-day truce that both sides agreed on.

Egypt refused to give up after the last truce that it negotiated with Israel and Palestine lasted no more than three hours and ended with dozens of Palestinian deaths.

Egyptian officials managed to make Israel and Palestine agree to yet another truce. The current ceasefire is set to last for three days, in which time Israel is to withdraw its forces from within Gaza.

However, once the truce is over, air attacks still remain as a possibility. As for the ground troops, Israel said that they will be placed in strategic positions around the Gaza Strip.

Israel is withdrawing its soldiers because they have accomplished their main goals in Gaza and have destroyed the underground tunnel that Hamas members were using to pass into Israel.

The current four-week conflict in Gaza has been more than a nightmare for many Palestinians, especially innocent civilians who suffered the most. Approximately 1,800 of them had lost their lives but more than double of that have lost their homes.

The Israeli side lost 67 people and may now be accused of crimes against humanity for its actions in Gaza.
