Famous comedian Robin Williams died at 63

Oscar winning actor and comedian Robin Williams was found dead at the age of 63 at his home in Northern California. Apparently, the comedian committed suicide, according to law enforcement officials on the case.

The investigation rapidly revealed that Williams might have taken his own life. “The suspect death appears to be a suicide due to asphyxia,” according to a statement from the Marin County, California, Sheriff's Office. The actor has been battling depression of late and recently entered a 12-step rehab for drug abuse.

Williams was married to graphic designer Susan Schneider since 2011. “This morning I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken,” Schneider said.

The news was so big even the White House got involved. “Robin Williams was a an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immesurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from out troops stationed abroad tot the marginalized on our own streets,” was Barack Obama's statement.

The autopsy is scheduled today while law enforcement officers are still investigating the manner and circumstances of the death.

Robin Williams starred in more than 70 projects (movies, TV series and voice) and won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for his performance in Good Will hunting in 1997.
