First death in Colorado related to weed legalization
There was no incident since Colorado legalized weed for recreational use until recently, when a coroner got 'marijuana intoxication' as the result of the death of a student. A Wyoming student jumped from the balcony of the hotel where he and his friends were staying, after eating a marijuana cookie, reports the Denver Post.
The friends he was with told the investigators that he "exhibited hostile behavior" after eating the cookie and seemed to be alright after they calmed him down, but still jumped, reports USA Today.
"He WAS fine, he was normal, he was an easy-going kid, and then he ate this cookie and went over the balcony, and this was not a kid who was suicidal" said a spokeswoman from the medical examiner office.
The student was from the Democratic Republic of Congo and was only 19, not being at age to buy the drug, so one of his older friends, that was 21 and could legally buy it, bought it for him. He had no signs of alcohol or other drugs in his system, his death being classified as an accident.
