America struck by tornadoes
14 people died yesterday after a tornado swiped through central and southern US, hitting Arkansas and Oklahoma the hardest.
The death toll rose to 13 in Arkansas and one in Oklahoma.
The county sheriff of the Vilona suburb declared that there is a ‘mass casualty situation’ as numerous people are injured and many more may still be buried under rubble.
The National Weather Service warned people to take cover after receiving reports about a tornado which was ‘as much as a half-mile wide’ crossing the Interstate 40.
On Friday, North Carolina was also hit by a string of tornadoes which left hundreds of houses in ruins.
