9 confirmed dead and 287 still missing from the sunken ferry
Strong currents and poor visibility obstructed the search for the missing passengers from the sunken South Korean ferry.
The number of those confirmed dead has risen to 9 and 287 people are still missing.
The ship might have had strayed from the established route, the coastguard believes. There is a suspicion that the ferry was imbalanced due to a quick change in direction and that might be the cause of the accident, according to investigators.
