Record sales for Taylor Swift in China
After her forthcoming gig in Shanghai sold out in just a minute, Taylor Swift has broken a sales record in China!
The hot singer will perform at the city's Mercedes Benz on May 30, which was picked up as the first of seven shows she has scheduled in Asia. It has become the fastest sell-out in the history of the country with all 18,000 tickets in 60 seconds. Last year, during the mammoth US leg of the 'Red' tour, she broke a record for the most sold-out shows by a solo artist at Los Angeles Staples Centre, with 11 gigs at the venue.
In an interview with Time magazine, Taylor Swift described how she considers Nashville to be her own, despite having bought large properties in New York and Los Angeles. "I spend as much time in Nashville as I can. The cool thing about spending time in Nashville is that no one knows when I'm there. In New York and LA there are photographers waiting on the street, and it seems like every errand I run is photographed and documented".
She's topped an industry chart for highest earners in 2013, too! The singer managed to earn around 39 million $ (23 million £) during the year. Swift's Red Tour will move on to Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, where the tour comes to an end on June 12.
