Michael Jackson still making loads of money
Yesterday marked the passing of five years since the king of pop music, Michael Jackson, stepped off the stage forever.
His career, however, is still developing and, surprisingly, Michael Jackson is making more money now than he ever did while still alive.
In his best days, Jackson’s revenue was somewhere around $100 million a year. Since his death in 2009, the Jackson Estate earned somewhere between 600 and 700 million dollars.
The latest album with Jackson’s name on it, Xscape, was released last month, ranking no. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
This was the second posthumous album to have been released, out of a total of seven albums Sony and Jackson’s lawyers had signed for. The contract has an estimated value worth 200 million dollars.
Among other income sources for the late singer there is the ‘This is it’ motion picture, which gained another $200 million in profits, and Thriller that continues to be the world’s most sold album ever.
