MAMA’s returns

MAMA’s will be held this year after three years. The MTV Africa Music Awards will take place on the 7th of June 2014 in Durban, South Africa. Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Alex Okosi announced it in Durban, South Africa. MAMA 2014 will celebrate African musicians that had an impact on African youth culture during this year and the edition will also feature Nigerian artists and international ones.

There will be 13 award categories, from Best Male to Best New Act and so on. Also, three “lifestyle” awards will be added, like “Leadership Award” or “Personality of the Year”.

Collaborations between artists from different genres and cultures will be awarded and a special award called “Transform Today by Absolut” will be granted for the power of the youth to transform African image through creativity and imagination.
