Liam Gallagher and spouse get divorced

Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton will file today for a 'quickie divorce'.

The two started dating in 2000, married 8 years later and split last year.

According to UK newspaper The Mirror, the divorce papers were filed at London's High Court and the couple's case is the second on a list of 12 hearings set to start at 10 a.m., today.

Liam and Nicole share a child together - teenage son Gene, 12 years old. The marriage fell apart in July last year, after it was revealed that Liam had fathered a daughter with American journalist Liza Ghorbani.

Liam told the news to Nicole over the phone, while she was on holiday with her older sisters Lori, Lee and Natalie in Florida, and he was performing in Ibiza.

The former Oasis star has apparently moved in with new girlfriend Debbie Gwyther, the manager of his fledgling band Beady Eye.

Nicole posted a series of inspirational tweets at the end of 2013, talking about what she learned from the year.

She wrote: "No matter how good you treat people there will always be people that are blind, take advantage of it and regret it when it's gone".

"You're gonna get talked about, left out, used, and even lied to but you have to decide who's worth the pain and who isn't. Even the people you care about the most can walk out of your life. 2013 taught me to be prepared for whatever life throws at you".
