Big names team up for charity LP
There are voices saying that Nick Cave, Kirk Hammett from Metallica, Katy Perry and others have teamed up for a limited edition LP containing several versions of the same traditional song, 'Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two)', which was written in 1892.
The price of one album is $99.99, and the money will go to support musical education in disadvantaged schools.
The project was conceived by painter Mark Ryden as part of his new art show, 'The Gay 90s', which opened on May 3. A total of 1,000 copies of the LP will be sold along with his paintings at the exhibition and on his website.
There are also other contributors to the LP, that brought their own version of the song: Tyler the Creator, Weird Al Yankovic, Danny Elfman, Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo and Stan Ridgeway.
Ryden, 51, is also known for designing album covers for famous artists such as Michael Jackson, Ringo Starr and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
