AC/DC retirement rumors

An anonymous e-mail sent to a radio station and signed 'Thunderstuck', stated that the Australian hard rock band AC/DC is planning for retirement.

The rumor was reported as a fact without any confirmation from the band.

The reported reason for retirement is that the founding member Malcolm Young is in very poor health and can't continue his activity with the band.

That doesn't seem as reason enough though, as only after four months past lead singer's Bon Scott death in 1980, the band released Back in Black album with Brian Johnson as new lead singer.

That was, allegedly, Bon's wish for them to continue without him. Does that mean that Young wants them to retire now? There are 13 ex-members of AC/DC already. The young brothers were, of course, the ones constant in the band, but does that mean that this is over?

According to rock writer Iain Shedden, AC/DC are still booked to go into the studio in Vancouver from May 1 for six weeks to work on their next album, and he is known to have the pulse of the industry more than some anonymous emailer.
